Kanchipuram silk sari with Kasuti hand embroidery
Description
The pallu of this gold handwoven Kanchipuram silk sari features a hand-embroidered motif of a Kathakali dancer’s face. Medium-sized motifs in complementary colours add interest to the plain body.
This stencil used to create this motif has been customised for Aalayam, and the process is such that each stencil can only be used a finite number of times. While each sari is unique, our customised Kathakali face design has already gone to appreciative owners in silk and cotton and only a few are currently available.
Pair our take on the traditional Kasuti embroidery with a gold brocade blouse and plain gold jewellery for monochromatic traditional styling, or with a jewel-toned blouse and twinkling stone jewellery to match the colours of the embroidery—there's no going wrong with this beauty.
Composition & Care
100% silk
Dry clean preferred. Else, refer to the attached label.
